Online Office Chair Shopping, Save Some Money for Your Business the E-Commerce Way

March 31, 2007 · Leave a Comment

When researching the most popular office chairs both online and in the retail store market, I have found that you can save the most money on the standard to the high end chairs if you buy online. When looking for an office chair, the options can seem endless with the multitudes of options and coverings to choose from. The average Herman Miller Aeron Chair on eBay sells for 50% of cost at times, brand new.

E-commerce stores really seem to have the market niche when it comes to discounting the individual office chairs whereas the retail office interiors store might give great volume discounting and offer more services and installation options. With the ease of online shopping, ease of price comparison and payment with shipping direct to you, why isn’t your office making it’s purchases online and saving money?

Herman Miller sells a Mesh Chair that is wildy popular called the Aeron. This term is more widely searched online than any other brand name or office chair model according to the search engine keyword analyzers. You can find the Aeron at a variety of sites. Some selling the Herman Miller chair at a fraction of the cost but most selling it at well below retail and with Free shipping included.

Humanscale’s Freedom Chair, Allsteels #19, Posture Right Galaxy and the VIA Swopper are all also highly searchable online and found for a fraction of the cost one pays when walking into the average office furniture store, or even outlet. I recently walked into a local office interiors store and clearance outlet. I was surprised to find the VIA Swopper Stool on sale, floor model only, for $626 when I had seen it offered last week on eBay for only $560, including of course, free shipping. This is an amazing ergonomically designed stool, custom made and with a terrific warranty, being offered new for way less than a floor model.

This is a custom ordered and made chair and can usually only be purchased at a small number of dealers. How is the “out of the way” customer living the beautiful country life supposed to purchase that all important office seating of their needs and specifics tastes when there are no stores close. In short, the online retailer solves this problem and not only does the customer get the product delivered direct to them without the hassle of getting it home, but they are able to make an educated decision as to what options and design elements their body type needs.

A good online office site will include lots of information both to help you purchase your chair and choose the right options for you, but it should also provide extensive store policy information and details about the company. Make sure to buy from a reputable seller with positive customer feedback and who has an address, e-mail, contact information and phone number available on their site to help with security.

When buying office chairs and most furniture, it is good to shop around to find the best price, but never neglect to check online to make sure that you aren’t missing out on that all terrific deal that will make the company save the money it needed and the boss sing your praises for weeks. Online office chairs are the way to go if saving money is something you enjoy.

Ebay, Sell Now and Become an Entrepreneur

March 20, 2007 · Leave a Comment

With all of the people currently employed full time selling on eBay, why haven’t you opened your eBay Store and become a true entrepreneur? There are many different ways to sell product and make money on eBay. From eBay Stores to trading assistant programs to franchise consignment programs, the market is diverse. A huge variety of products, services, homes, cars and programs are for sale, your options are endless as to what you want to sell.

Ebay makes it easy for an entrepreneur to start a business for little to no start up cost. They offer an educational filled site with detailed programs to walk the layperson through the selling and even the buying process. You can take a step by step guided tour at your own pace through eBay making it simple. They also give you tons of tips and information like top selling strategies and tips for writing your copy and pricing your item.

When listing an item on eBay, you need not pay any fees up front. In fact, even if the item does not sell, you are simply charged the listing fee. These fees are usually nominal with an average of 2-5 dollars each for a standard, no frills auction. If your item does sell, congratulations.

You will also be charged a small percentage based final value fee based on the final selling price of the item, minus shipping costs. Luckily you won’t really have to pay for either of these when you are an educated eBay seller and know to factor the fees into your auction price. This allows you to pay eBay for their marketing services and still take your profit.

Feedback is also very important on the eBay sales platform and it is recommended that you make sure to keep customer service foremost on your mind from day one. A good seller reputation promotes more buyers due to the trust and security of buying your item from a reputable seller. Ship timely, send confirmation e-mails, be truthful in advertising and leave positive feedback for your customers and you should see your feedback numbers start to rise.

With all of the education available, the ability for most people to start working in their spare time and the small start up costs, why not work for yourself. Ebay is an amazing and diverse marketplace and can offer anyone with extra things around the house a starting board for a great new business opportunity.

What are you going to sell on eBay?

Office Chair Savings and the Price Ranges for Workplace Ergonomic Chairs

March 16, 2007 · 1 Comment

In any business, finding your office furniture, chairs and supplies at the lowest price, is a smart business decision. Knowing how to find the chairs cheap is the first step to getting your space ready for business. Your type of business will determine your office chair quantities and needed functions. Good office chairs for your particular business do not necessarily come cheap. Shopping around and knowing the in’s and out’s of the office chair industry can really help when purchasing bulk orders of chairs for your business.

Like clothing, some chairs feature no more than a well-known brand name, a great look and a mighty hefty price tag. And also as in the clothing industry, this “name brand” chair may be no better suited for your needs than another non-name brand chair at half the price.  Sometimes paying for a name and fancier materials doesn’t make a positive difference in comfort or the ability of your office chair. However, buying the right chair at a much lower price, can definitely make a positive difference in your pocketbook.

Office chairs can range in price all the way from sixty dollars to the thousands depending on your needs and the materials you want it upholstered in.  The average ergonomic office chair, featuring good ergonomic adjustability features and comfort and built to use over long works hours, usually ranges on average from $200 to $450.

There are many great office chairs in this range for the long-hours in front of the computer type of worker. Not everyone needs such an ergonomic chair, but  if you have employees in your business working long hours in front of the computer, you need to be sure you get the proper ergonomic model to avoid common employee injuries such as carpal tunnel syndrome or other repetitive motion injuries. Many more top of the line ergonomic models with adjustability and custom options are available for a higher price tag, just make sure you are not simply paying for a “name” instead of a good chair.

For the standard task office chair or conference table chair, your company can save a ton of money by finding the lower priced and not so ergonomic models, which still offer comfort and adjustability but also offer a better price. If the chair is not used for long hours, this can be the perfect chair for your situation and the better price as well.

The standard office chair, without the extra frills and levers of a true ergonomic model, ranges in price from an average of $70 to $150, with a little more added on for things like leather, mesh etc. These chairs still feature tilt mechanisms and height adjustment in order to position the chair for different user as well.

The standard task office chairs are where most offices find the most savings as the price varies a lot from dealer to dealer and many different manufacturers make these types of chairs in different models. The upholstery is usually what changes the price so much in these lower price models with leather being the most expensive and the fabric and vinyl versions costing much less. Figure out what your business needs before shopping and you will come out with a better price and a better chair with just a little research.
